Actually, this is winter 2008. We have had unending snow since we returned to Bend a week ago. It is simply beautiful with the whole world brilliant and white and all of the sharp edges softened by the snow. But the poetry quickly vanishes when we have to shovel the driveway! It has snowed everyday since Sunday and the forecast shows snow through next Thursday--I think the drought may be well and truly ended for this year. For you skiers, Mt. Bachelor has over 150 inches base--good skiing, I think.
